I finally got around to stitching an & More canvas.  It’s only been on my to do list for 18 months.

I tried my hand at the technique Or Nue.  Basically, you lay long horizontal stitches from one side of the canvas to the other.  Then you tack the down with another thread in a pattern.

These canvases are so much fun to stitch because you can do just about anything to them.

I can’t wait to get this back from the framer.  I’ve been DYING to use a Prisma frame.  It will be like this one, but in two shades of purple.

It’s only November, but the snow is falling at my house. The Winter tree in our new club starting in January is finished!

 The giant green Santa by Amanda Lawford has  friends.

All measure 30 inches. The nutcrackers are on 13 mesh.  The Ghost of Christmas Past is painted on 18.  Everyone wants me to stitch that piece.  Maybe when I finish my homework!

The nutcrackers do have some smaller friends.

Here in Connecticut, there is a very heated debate.  Yankees vs. Red Sox.  Unfortunately, my team, didn’t make it this year.  But that’s ok.  We’ve only won 27 times.  Guess we can let someone else win sometimes.

I can’t say that I’ve been following the games.  I’m a little tired from last weekend and have been falling asleep on the couch at night.  I have grand ambitions to stitch this piece for my dad.

Maybe for his 70th birthday.  That gives me two years. (I think)

Play Ball!

We had the most AMAZING time at the retreat! 23 women and one man, Father B, joined us for the weekend at the Inn at Water’s Edge in Westbrook, CT.  People came from Baltimore, Texas, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and even a few were local customers.

Class was held on Saturday and Sunday.  Friday night we had  a meet and great at the hotel where everyone got to know each other.

Over 28 stitches were incorporated and even (I can hear everyone groaning) a little off-canvas weaving.

Nancy is clarifying something in the stitch guide.

Aggie helped out all day and then taught her Bling Workshop on Saturday afternoon.

The food was spectacular!

I still can’t believe that 24 people came to our retreat.  Thank you everyone for coming and hope to see you again next year.

Let the good times roll!  The first Enriched Stitch retreat is underway!

We’ve been packing, kitting and planning for months.  We are so excited!

I put together kits for three hours one Monday morning.  I made 45 piles lining the floor of our classroom.

Take a look at Aggie’s dining room table.  What a mess getting the kits together for the Bling Workshop.

Now the day has finally come.  We’re here!

We’re still missing two cart of stuff.

We’re ready!  Stay tuned . . .

We have put together the kits.  Tacked the canvases on bars.  Checked in a Maggie/Ewe & Eye trunk show. Printed the stitch guides.  Made the welcome bags. And SO much more!  All the work is done and now the fun begins as we head to our first retreat.

Twenty four people from all around the country will be joining us as The Inn at Waters Edge in Westbrook, CT to spend the weekend stitching, eating and getting to know other stitchers.
