There’s nothing better than the Tony Minieri experience. I spent three wonderful days at Edwardian Needle in Tony’s canvas embellishment class.
I worked on this beautiful piece called “Soul Singer” by the artist Chico from Julia’s Needleworks.
I know…I know…not a typical piece for me. I picked this piece not only because of the vibrant colors and the fact that I’m a musician, but also because I wanted to learn about motion and movement on a piece. And Tony definitely delivered.
I learned how to do a buttonhole around a ring and apply it to the canvas. How cool is that?
This is my first attempt and I need to redo it. It’s very difficult to get your tension right.
This piece is going to be amazing! Hopefully I’ll get some time to work on it. I’m almost all caught up on my stitching commitments. I’m almost finished with a piece that will be exclusive to our store starting in February. And no . . .no hints on that right now. And I have to finish the last of the Sassy Ladies. Wait till you see what I found at M&J Trimmings in the city for her skirt!
But for now, I’m going to work on my son’s second stocking. That’s a story for another day.
