I finally broke down and started a Patchwork of Peace. I’m trying to keep this a secret from my husband. I’d love to get it done for Christmas, but I’m not going to kill myself to get it done. I figure I’ll get a few squares done every week and whenever it is finished it’s finished. Good thing I have a store that I can work on it in. And as far as I know, he doesn’t read my blog. So I think I’m safe.

I’m not talking about the Adele song (even though it is the only song of hers that I like). A customer called me today to check on the hours that I was open. She was relieved that I answered and in fact I am open for business. Apparently, she was in another store in the area and they told her that I was out of business. She saw my business card posted on the wall with something crossed out on it and a sad face drawn on it.
When I called the shop to confirm my existence (much to their dismay I suppose) the shop owner denied it and said that it was impossible that someone at the shop told this woman that I was closed. Something sounds a little fishy to me, but whatever!
So, rest assured, The Enriched Stitch is very much alive. More vital than ever. I have been a busy little bee this weekend making all sorts of plans. Stay tuned . . .

Designers are starting to show some of their new designs for the Dallas market. I LOVE these new candy apples from Needle Deeva. Wouldn’t they be adorable finished rounded, almost like a kissing ball with a stick coming out of the top?
Sitting on a bed of candy corn would make them even better.

I always forget about this little guy hanging out at the shop. A stitched him a few years ago. This was designed by Ashley Dillon, Liz’s daughter. She hasn’t designed anything new since the Thanksgiving and Fourth of July marches. I’m DYING for a new piece from her.
