At long last, my Ho Ho Ho is finished!

We tweaked a few things on the finishing when it came back.  Aggie made one of her signature bows.

This was an online class we offered earlier in the year.

Mary Susan just finished hers and she’s going to have it made into a pillow.  Wait till you see what she has planned.  I have to say . . .I’m a bit jealous I didn’t finish mine the way she plans to finish hers.   But I do love mine.  And I didn’t have a Christmas standup in my collection.

Order one or more of the canvases below and hang out in the shop that day stitching on some holiday cheer.  We’ll be there to help you with stitch and thread ideas to make these little darlings come to life.  No fee.  Just a few hours of much needed “me time” during the crazy holiday season.

Back to Basics with Tony Minieri

May 19th, 20th, August 25th, 26th

This four day class will blow your mind!  I learned so much when I took it at another shop.

This four day class will strengthen your technique and help rid you of the the bad habits you’ve developed over the years. A basic knowledge of stitches is a prerequisite.

Canvas Empowerment with Jo Christensen

June 22nd-23rd

This two day embellishment class is one of a kind! Bring an unstitched canvas of your choice and Jo will guide you through how to select stitches and threads. The class begins with art and color theory. Then Jo will tell you what kind of stitch and thread she would like you to select for an area. You’ll learn how to use stitch books and select stitches. The second day will be spent on technique.

Have a Cup of Tea with Beatrice and Me (and Jo Christensen)

Spend the weekend with Jo and Beatrice working on this darling piece by Brenda Stofft. This is the cutest bunny ever! The canvas measures 7 x 10 on 18 mesh. Learn padding and sculpting techniques to make Beatrice look realistic. The cup is apppliqued. So many amazing aspects of this adorable piece. Class fee $250. Kit fee is additional and TBD. Advance registration required. Kits available.

Canvas Embellishment with Tony Minieri

September 22nd-24th

Tony will write a custom typed stitch guide with diagrams for the canvas of your choice and will walk you through the amazing techniques and process behind his creating the stitch guide. This three day class is slower paced so that everyone can have personal time with Tony. You will leave with a full understanding of your stitch guide. Class fee $300. Canvas must be purchased or dropped off at the store by May 1st. Threads and stitch guide are an additional charge and vary based upon your kit.

Julia Snyder Embellishment Class

December 1st, 2nd or 3rd

Come for one or more days while Julia selects the stitches and threads for the canvas of your choice! Julia is amazing with ribbons, beads and other embellishments. Her unique style is sure to wow you!

For those of you are laying tool aficionados, you’ll love the hand carved wooden laying tools from Zecca.  They’re so smooth and feel great in your hand.

The can also come with the BLT metal laying tool inserted inside.  Personally, those metal laying tools scare me!

These are my new favorite bags!  I carry a purse everyday that coordinates with my stitching bag.  I gotta tell you, you’ll feel less like a bag lady (which is what we always joke about ourselves here) when you’re carrying pretty bags that match.

I picked this up a few weeks ago from my framer, River Road Gallery, but totally forgot to share it on the blog.

This was such a fun piece to stitch in the dead of winter last year, when everything is dark and bleak.  These bright colors were like sitting under one of those sun lamps people use to get sunlight in the winter.

This is very classic Kate Dickerson, with her bright colors and fun designs.

A little brick beading brings this butterfly to life while keeping the wings translucent.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed by 13mm ribbon from River Silks is my new favorite thing to play with.  I bought myself a ton of ribbons at the DC show back in June.

The pink ribbons are not from River Silks.  They would have to be 30 mm ribbon or something like that.  This is a beautiful 1 1/2 inch ribbon that has been applied to the canvas to create the huge lift in the petals.

Now to figure out where this piece will live?  The store? (Like most of my pieces lol)  Or maybe this one might make it home to my office.  It’s the perfect colors for my office,  which I’ll share with you my office/stitching room one day when it doesn’t look like a bomb went off in it.

Let’s hope that day comes one day!

You all know how much I love getting packages in the mail at the shop.  It’s like Christmas every day!

On Saturday I received a box from Melissa Prince with all her new movie coasters. And you know how much I love those.  They’re like candy.  You can’t have just one piece lol.

I had ordered My Fair Lady for myself (among a few others.  I know . . .I’ve got issues lol) and immediately put her on bars.  Finished her up on Sunday afternoon and here she is making her debut.

I think I did that hat justice.  And that is one big hat!  I’ll be writing the stitch guide up in the next few days so if you’d like a kit we can put one together for you

Isn’t this cool?  It can be an ort jar, pin cushion. or we thought a pencil holder.

We’re having a class this Saturday featuring all of the pieces in this series.  Pick one or more to work on during class.  If you purchase more than one, those canvases are 10% off.  But that deal only lasts through Saturday.

 I stitched one the other night. And when I say a quick stitch, I mean a quick stitch!  It took me about 3 hours.  Gotta love instant gratification!
