Summer Sips Club

I’ve been doing a TON of stitching over the last week since I tore my calf muscle.  There’s worse things I could be doing lol!  If you know me at all,  it’s hard for me to sit still.  My fingers hurt!

I’ve been having so much fun stitching the “Summer Sips” by Leigh Designs.  So let’s do a club!

Here’s how it works.

There are 8 canvases in total.  You must select a minimum of 4 canvases and kits to participate in the club.  You can select between 4-8 canvases.  If you opt for all 8 canvases you will receive the last canvas for FREE!

$108/canvas.  Includes stitch guide.  Thread kits TBD.  Entire thread kit will ship with first canvas.

You can sign up online or by calling the shop. 203-210-5107

If you sign up online, please write in your order notes which canvases you would like.

The sign up deposit is $108 and will be applied towards one of the canvases.

The club starts in August so don’t wait to sign up.  You don’t want to miss the first shipment!

The stitch guides are by yours truly.

The Pina Colada is definitely my favorite.

I’m waiting for the crystals to come for the background. Gotta love Swarovski crystals!

Mojito

Strawberry Daiquiri

Lemon Drop

MimosaHurricane

Cuba Libre

Bloody Mary

Wait till you see our finishing idea for this.  I’m looking forward to spending the evening finishing Cuba Libre.  I’m saving my favorite for last . . .guess which one.

Let’s Pick up Where We Left Off

You’ve probably been wondering where I’ve been all week.  I left off telling you that my little sis was getting married last weekend.  It was a blast!!!!

The kids had a great time at the rehearsal dinner on Friday night.

Trip was a little nervous about his big role but he did great!

Meet my parents.  Don’t they look so happy?

Quite the bridal party . . .right?

After all of this partying and a day of recovery on Sunday, the excitement didn’t die down.  Monday morning I went to the gym and tore my calf muscle.  Ouch!  Is all I can say.  I hobbled out of the gym and got myself to the doctor.  I spent a few days in a boot but now I’m at least getting around without it.  I can’t stand moving this slowly!

Needless to say, I’ve had a lot of time to sit and stitch this week.  There are worse things one could have to do lol!  I’m cooking up a new club since my needle has been flying.  Can you guess what new hot series it will be?  More on that soon . . .

Finishing Sale!

It’s that time of year again!  All finishing dropped off during June will be 10% off!  We’ve had some fabulous pieces come back for our customers.

Movie coasters have been flying off the walls at the shop!

Kim just dropped off the Elf movie coaster.  How cute are the snowballs in the background?

Laura stitched this duck for her daughter’s bridal shower.  Apparently she is quite the duck lover!

Laurie was the first to finish the “Garden Party” from Julia Snyder’s class.

This piece was sentimental.  It had been started by mom years ago and was finished up by her daughter.  There was a lot of ripping going on in this piece.  But look how fabulous it turned out!

Christine brought these two pillows in during the February finishing sale.  It’s so refreshing to see a straight basketweave piece.

So drop off your finishing or mail it into us!

Wedding Bells are Ringing

My little sis is getting married this weekend!

I’m so excited for her!  It’s going to be an amazing wedding.  She has been working so hard planning this wedding I just know it’s going to be amazing.

My little guy is the ring bearer. So naturally I offered to make the ring bearer pillow.

The ribbon is tacked on and will be snipped off after the wedding so she can use it in her new home.  A simple monogram and a quick stitch.  If you’re interested in this simple design let me know.  We can paint up a custom canvas just for you!

I used extra fabric from my bridesmaid dress to add a little color to the pillow.  I had about three extra feet of fabric!  I know I’m short but who are they making these dresses for?  Giants? LOL!

I’ll share pictures from the wedding next week.  Wait till you see Trip in his top hat.  His idea. . .not mine.  “Men look great in tuxedos.  I need a top hat with mine.”  From the mouths of babes!

Back from the Framer

It took me a little while to get around to bringing “The Vallerie” to the framer, but it’s finally back at long last.

I fell in love with this piece when I first saw it in Melissa Prince’s booth.  It was SO much fun to stitch.  Ribbons and beads and stitches . . .oh my!

I taught this piece last fall at the shop.

My framer, Pat, at River Road Gallery is going to enter this into a framing competition.  How cool is that?

While I was trotting off to the framer,  I brought the new hydrangea canvas from my wholesale line, Vallerie Needlepoint Gallery.

I think this one is my favorite so far out of the canvases I’ve created.

Oh who am I kidding?  I love them all.  But who doesn’t have a thing for hydrangeas?

If you’re as crazy for either of these pieces as I am, we can certainly put a kit together for you with a stitch guide.

A Quickie

Who doesn’t love a quickie?  If you went there . . .get your mind out of the gutter lol!

I stitched up this darling little heart by Amanda Lawford back in January when I went to California for the trade show.  Such a quick stitch that I finished it during the first flight.

Then I got home and totally forgot about this little cutie.  Of course, it was tucked inside one of my stitching bags and all it needed was some sort of embellishment.  I had ordered a bunch of Swarovski pearls for the hydrangea piece and found just the right thing for the heart.

It comes in these three colorways, as well as the pink one that I stitched and a cream and white one, which would be perfect as a bridal shower gift.  Wedding bells are ringing in my family.  But that’s a post for another day!

And so it begins

I’ve been working on my New England Santa piece that I will be teaching next April at our Needlepoint in New England Retreat.

I’m happy with the stitch for the coat.  But should I add the sparkle thread or not?  The far right side has no sparkle and the area on the right side of the coat next to the white has Petite Silk Lame Braid in the small opening.  What do you think?

I’m not a religious person, but I sure do feel like I spent some time at church recently. LOL!

I love how the wreath came out.  And I think, if I do say so myself, that the greenery hanging on the doors is adorable.

I’ll post my progress as I stitch, as well as the other pieces that are for the retreat.  If you haven’t heard about this event, be sure to check it out on the website.  Some of the classes are getting close to being filled.  So, if you’ve been thinking about coming, don’t wait!

All the info is on the website.  Click here to go to Needlepoint in New England!

Jo Christensen is Coming to Town

Jo will be stopping by The Enriched Stitch at the end of June.  We are so excited to have her back again.   She is the most wonderful teacher.  Patient . . .kind . . .and SO knowledgeable . . .what’s not to love?

Beatrice is possibly the cutest bunny I have ever seen.

The dimension that Jo adds to this design is unbelievable.  The cup is a separate canvas that is attached.

Even though this piece looks very difficult, Jo assures me it is not nearly as hard as it looks. There are fabulous little flowers made with silk ribbon.  Learn to pad the body of the bunny and stitch over it.  There’s just so much packed into this little darling.

Class will be June 24-25.

We just received the canvases and are putting together the kits together.   There’s some stitching that needs to be done before the class.  So, if you’re interested you need to sign up soon to start on your kit.  We have two spots left in class so don’t wait too long!

Canvas Empowerment Class – June 22-23

A new twist on an embellishment class.  Select a canvas of your choice and Jo will teach her formula for selecting the perfect stitch and thread for your canvas. You will gain skills and knowledge that you can then use on all future canvases. Your classmate’s canvases will be discussed with the group too, so you get the benefit of learning about all twelve canvases. You will be empowered to select the threads from the store with Jo’s guidance.

Give the shop a call if you want to sign up  We have a few spots left.

Hope you’ll join us in the don’t miss series of classes!  203-210-5107
