They’re Multiplying!

I jsut can’t help myself.   These bunnies are just too cute.  I swore I wouldn’t stitch another bunny or a chick for a while.  How’s that going for me? lol

bunny with flowers 2016

I stitched this while a\I was away in Vermont this past weekend.  Not much else to do there since it was -40 with the windchill on Sunday.  I never left the house other than to take my little princess dog, Bella, out to do her business.

I’m in the mood right now to stitch happy and colorful pieces.  I’ve got a few more Easter pieces in the works.  So stayed tuned.

Love is in the Air

I am so excited to reveal the  latest exclusive canvas at The Enriched Stitch.

Love-Exclusive-Finished

How fitting, right?  I’ve always wanted to stitch something for Valentine’s Day.  But, I’m not really into little naked cherubs  or over the top Valentine’s Day themed canvases.  So, Kate Dickerson and I got talking at the Dallas market back in September and we created this canvas.  Personally, I think this canvas could be displayed all year long.  I had the four letters made into a garland with ribbons on the ends so I can hang it.  Now I just need to find the perfect place.   Oh who am I kidding?  It’s gonna live in the store!

Love-exclusive-canvas

This canvas is only available through The Enriched Stitch.  The kit includes all four letters on one canvas, stitch guide and thread kit.  The stitch guide will provide a suggestion for the background if you would like all four designs to be finished on one piece, such as a pillow, stand up or framed.  I chose to stitch mine individually to make a garland.

The complete kit is $265, which includes the canvas, stitch guide and threads.  You can call the shop to order or click here to order online.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Not another bunny

I am SO ready for spring.  This last week has been a nightmare with the snow in Connecticut.  Don’t get me wrong . . .I love winter.  I love staying at home . . .stitching. .  .cleaning out the house . . . making yummy food.  But the snow . . .that I could do without.   I can’t even possibly think about stitching something winter or snow related.

bunny-with-flowersThis adorable new design from Susan Roberts came in  last week and was calling my name.  Actually, I had ordered one for myself and one for the shop at market.  And no . . .I did NOT stitch another bunny lol!  It’s an egg with a bunny and flowers.

Yup . . .that’s how I justify stitching yet another bunny.

Go Red with Thread Fundraiser

We hosted our first annual Go Red with Thread Fundraiser for The American Heart Association this weekend.  So far, we have raised $750 in donations.

We were lucky enough to have a few designers contribute to the cause.  The Meredith Collection created a magnet for the event that is available at The Enriched Stitch.  Click here to purchase.

Pepperyberry, Kate Dickerson, Associated Talents and Beth Gantz were kind enough to send mini trunk shows of their heart canvases.

All of these canvases are 20% off and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the AHA.  We will only have these canvases in the shop through Friday and then they have to go back to their respective homes.  Give us a call if you’d like to purchase a canvas and help support this very important cause.

Many shops around the country are participating in this fundraiser, as well.  You can see what shops are participating that have contacted me on our website. Call that particular shop for details regarding their event or promotion.

Girl’s Night Out Coaster Club – An Enriched Stitch Exclusive

By now you know that I love the movie coasters by Melissa Prince. Melissa and I got talking one day and voila!  The Girl’s Night Out Coaster Club was born!

The club will start in June.  I know it’s a long way off, but we have to plan ahead in the needlepoint world.  Melissa just finished painting the designs this weekend.  I won’t even have my copies for about eight weeks.  But, they are quick and fun stitch.

If you’re local, we’ll be kicking off the start of the club with a cocktail party at the shop.  Also, each month we’ll be showing the movie of the month at the shop and you can come sit and stitch.  Hey . . .it IS girl’s night out after all.

See if you can guess which movie it is.  The answers are at the bottom.

There are 8 canvases in total.  Each measures 4 x 4 on 18 mesh canvas.  Each installment of the club is $60.  Stitch guides are included with the purchase of the threads.  Threads are additional.  A non-refundable deposit of $160 is required to sign up and will be credited towards each installment.

I can’t wait to get a needle in these canvases.  But for now, I’ll just start looking for the perfect jewels for Juliet . . .that exactly hair color for Julia Roberts . . .and how am I ever going to make red lace panties for the 50 Shades canvas?

You can join in the fun by calling the shop or signing up online.

Yay! New Thread!

I love getting my hands on a new thread line.  There’s nothing better than seeing how the colors vary from other thread lines  . . . how they feel in your hand . . .cover a canvas . . .and what else I can get them to do once I deconstruct it.  Yes . . .I am known for pulling apart threads and using them in ways other than the intended use.  I’m a bad girl lol!

So, anyway . . .I had an idea a few months ago and approached Tracy, the owner of Planet Earth Fibers.  And voila!  She made the overdye Pepper Pot and Planet Earth Silk.  Almost every overdye thread is strandable and a lot of people look at me like I have ten heads when I tell them they need to take the thread apart and put it back together.  There are silk perle threads, but they are very slippery and difficult to work with.

Planet Earth will be expanding this line I just found out when I emailed Tracy and said “We need pinks in the line!”  Check out the colors on their website.  Lucious . . .just so yummy!

We have them in stock at The Enriched Stitch.  Stop by and check them out or give us a shout if you want us to send you some.

Canvas Embellishment with Julia Snyder

March will be here soon enough.  And if you’ve been reading the blog for the last few years, you know that the anniversary of the store is March 17th.  And . . .that we always have Julia Snyder in to celebrate.

Julia will be teaching canvas embellishment classes on Friday March 18 and Saturday March 19th from 10-4.

If you’ve never taken a class with Julia, you are missing out.  She is wildly creative . .  .has an encyclopedic knowledge of needlepoint . . .and is SO much fun.

Here’s how a canvas embellishment class works. . .You bring an unstitched canvas of your choice to class.  Julia will select the threads and stitches for you to use on the canvas.  You will be amazed at what she comes up with.  She’s taught me how to make fake eye lashes, work with crazy threads and embellishments that I had no idea how to use, ribbon work and beading, and SO much more.

It’s a really fun day of learning and spending time with other stitchers.

Class is $165/day.  Come for one or both days.

As an added bonus, we are offering a rare opportunity of a day of private lessons with Julia on Sunday March 20th.  You can sign up for one hour or more.  Private lessons are $75/hour.

Class is filling up quickly so don’t hesitate.

More Movie Coasters

Aggie and I just love stitching these movie coasters by Melissa Prince.

I finished up Star Wars this weekend during the snow store.  I’m waiting for a Swarovski crystal to come in the mail to add on to R2D2.  Then it will be totally finished.
