No no . . .you’re reading the right blog.  I’m talking about the movie.  Here’s the latest canvas that I finished from our exclusive Girls Night Out Club.

I wish I were a better photographer because this picture really doesn’t do it justice.  These shoes are blinged out with Swarovski flatback crystals.  They really sparkle.

I made up a fun little background stitch I call “Streamers.”   I think it adds just enough to the party vibe of this canvas.

You all must be thinking between my post yesterday about our exclusive nips liquor bottles and now Sex and the City that we are party girls here at The Enriched Stitch.  Well . . . you’d be right!  We have so much fun here at the shop, with each other and our customers.  And we’re never afraid to break out bottle of wine at the end of a long day.

Wanna know where this idea came from? Last January of 2015 at the Phoenix trade show, someone, who will remain nameless, ordered a round of Fireball shots at the hotel bar one night.  Hyla, the owner and designer of The Point of It All Designs, came bopping into the bar and we got talking.  A shot was handed to her and she couldn’t refuse.  I mean really , , ,if someone hands you a shot you can’t say no.

So, we got to talking and I suggested that she make the huge liquor bottles smaller, like nips.  You ask and you shall receive.

Meet my 10 year old niece, Lila.  She’s so stinking cute that I had to share how proud she is of her first finished piece.

Not too shabby for her first piece.  Better than my first piece looked like lol.

It’s so refreshing to see a young person stitching, instead of their head buried in a device of some sort.

She just dropped off another piece for finishing.  A cute little piece with goldfish and waves on it.  She wants it to look like a fish bowl, so we’re doing it as a boxed standing weighted.  I’ll be sure to show you when it comes back.

I just love these little canvases from The Meredith Collection.

 Such a quick and fun stitch.  So many clubs go on and on forever it seems.  So, I thought we’d offer a mini club at The Enriched Stitch.  Three canvases . . .that’s it.  We’ll start shipping in July and you’ll receive one a month for three months.

I had the laziest Sunday.  Much needed.  I watched a marathon of movies, Father of the Bride, Dirty Dancing and appropriately Sixteen Candles.  Funny that it should be on tv while I was stitching that canvas.

Get it?  The panties that Molly Ringwald gives to Anthony Michael Hall with the candles on top.  This canvas just cracks me up.

These 4 x 4 canvases are so much fun to stitch.  They’re quick. Instant gratification.  We don’t get that very often in needlepoint.

I had to wait a week to finish getting the last of the beads on the ruby slippers, but I think enjoying a week of fun and sun in the Virgin Islands was well worth the wait.

I did a little stitching on vacation, but not much.  Simple basketweave and brick stitch was about all my brain could handle.

It was so nice to get away and relax, but now it’s back to the grind.  And boy do I have a lot of stitching to do!  I just received my canvases to stitch for our exclusive “Girls Night Out Coaster Club” so I had to finish up the Wizard of Oz Coaster quickly and get it off the bars.

I have to admit . . .the hardest thing to needlepoint is a bow.  It’s so hard to create that curve and dimension on canvas.

It’s not secret that at The Enriched Stitch a few of the girls are crazy about heart canvases.  It’s spreading like wild fire throughout the store.  I get it, little projects that you can actually complete (unlike me and the huge things I’m always stitching.)

A customer of ours, Debbie, stitched this adorable heart by Kate Dickerson.  And Lind created the finishing concept with the tassel.

Can you guess what the tassel is made of?  Straw Silk.  How cool is that?

Our girl Linda loves her Jack Daniels.  Look at the finishing she designed for this simple basketweave piece.

Linda was originally planning on stitching this for her best friend, but she couldn’t give it away.  So, her friend is getting the nip version of the design from The Point of It All.
