Blow Out Sale- Saturday August 29th- In Store Only

Ok…there’s been a lot of inquiries about this sale.  Unfortunately, it is only offered in the store.   I do not have the man power to load all of these threads and canvases into the online store.  But just wait what’s coming down the pipeline.  ALL of over canvases will be featured in the online store over the next few months.

We’ve been going through the torture of switching our Point of Sale system.  But it will all be worth it.

We have over 350 canvases on sale.  Some discounted as much as 70%!

And to think it was born out of a blank canvas and a cookie cutter.ruffle-heart-finished-2I will be teaching this class at Destination Dallas in September to other shop owners.  We will be offering it again at The Enriched Stitch on Tuesday September 1st 10-12.

This class is only offered in the store right now.  If you’re interested in it, speak to your local needlepoint store to see if they will be attending my class.  After the trade show, I will be offering the class online with a video tutorial.  But please, support your local shop with this class if possible.

Let the Games Begin

So I dove in head first yesterday on the New York City canvas.  For as large and intimidating as this canvas is, doing one building at a time makes it SO much easier.

I started with the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.

opera-house-1

Music holds a special place in my heart.  And nothing is more beautiful than this magnificent building illuminated at night.  It just glows!

opera-house-2

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the windows glow.  Stitched with a very fine thread in a darning pattern, it looks like the glass is reflective.

I’ll be sending out the first installment of the stitch guide next week.  It’s not too late to join in on the fun.  We have more canvases on order, but we can always catch you up when they come in.

You can read more about it on the website or sign up online or call the shop.  The more the merrier!  And we’re all going to need motivation!

Red, White and Blue

You know how much we love our Americana.  Aggie and Becki have just finished up two more pieces in our Americana series.

americana-basket-finsihed

Becki worked her magic on this canvas.  Another masterpiece!  And perfectly stitched.  Just try to find a thread out of place in this basket.

Aggie stitched the flip flops piece, as we call it around the shop.  But, it’s technically called “Welcome.”

Both kits are available with stitch guides and thread kits.

Welcome:  Canvas: $150    Stitch Guide: $45   Thread Kit: $92.95

Shaker Basket:  Canvas: $195  Stitch Guide: $45  Thread Kit: $119.45

You can order by calling the shop.  I’ll load these into the online store over the next few days.

In case you missed it, these are the other two canvases that we stitched in our Americana Series.  Both have stitch guides and can be kitted up, as well.

Happy Stitching!

For my mom

I always have grand ambitions to stitch gifts for my family. Well…this time I managed to at least get it stitched for my mom for Mothers Day. I started it Saturday afternoon and finished it up with three hours to spare before seeing my mom.

pug-1

My mom has a 16 year old pug named Pugsley.  I refer to him as her seventh child. (Yes…I am one of six kids.)

How cute did this turn out? Gotta love my finisher. She actually called the store and left a message when she received it saying how “breathtaking” this piece was. I don’t know if that’s the word I would choose to describe a pug, but what a complement. Then she asked if she could keep it. Lol!

The final reveal

pinwheel-1

As I promised a few weeks ago, here is the entire canvas of a new design by Amanda Lawford that I will be teaching at the Dallas trade show on September 26th.

Amanda has outdone herself for this show with almost 60 new designs.  I can’t wait to see all them.  But, what I can share with you is that this design comes in three different color ways and three different sizes.  All will have stitch guides by yours truly.  Even though I have only stitched the blue color way, I will pull the threads for the other colors and the stitch guide will translate perfectly to any color or size of this canvas.

17 x 17 on 13 mesh: $215

10 x 10 on 18 mesh: $120

18 x 8 on 13 mesh: $150

I stitched the 10 x 10 design.

You can preorder your kits now or contact your local shop to see if someone from the shop will be taking my class and plans on teaching it at their shop. You can order through your local shop, as well.  I still have to add up the thread kit.  I’ll get to that next week when I’m back from vacation.

You can call the store to order or preorder your canvas online.  Let us know if you would like the threads and stitch guide in your order notes.

Little Bits

basket-cooper-oaks

How stinkin’ cute is this canvas from Cooper Oaks?  I snagged it out of the trunk show last month.  Sometimes I need a small project, since I’m always working on big canvases.

Linda and Mary Susan went fabric shopping in the city last week and found the cutest fabrics to make this into a teeny tiny pillow.  Wouldn’t it be adorable as the center of a ring bearer pillow for a beach wedding? All you have to do is attach a jewelry finding to it and tie a ribbon to that.  Then remove the fitting by snipping the thread after the wedding and you have an adorable pillow for the newlyweds home.

There’s a stitch guide for this little gem and we’d be happy to send out a kit to you!

Off to our pillow finisher (aka the magician) it goes!

New York New York….What a wonderful town!

I’m so excited to announce the first online home study course with The Enriched Stitch!

nyc

This canvas has been on my bucket list since I first laid eyes on it.  Growing up in Connecticut, I spent a lot of time in the city.  Everything from Broadway shows to Carnegie Hall to clubbing in my college years.  There’s nothing like the energy and excitement of all that New York City has to offer.

So here’s how it works.  Starting in September, you will be emailed a PDF of the portion of the stitch guide.  We will go building by building.  Seventeen buildings in total.  So yes . . .this will go on for a while.  But, it is a 20 x 20 canvas on 18 mesh.

You can purchase the canvas from The Enriched Stitch at 15% off the regular retail price of $860.  So that would bring it down to $731.  That’s a huge savings!  If you already own the canvas and want to join in, that’s fine too.  Each lesson will be $15.  You can either pay the entire class fee up front or we can send you a Paypal invoice each month.  We will have thread kits available with each installment that we can send with a paper copy of the stitch guide.

You can sign up online or by calling the store.  Please let us know if you would like the thread kits when you order.

203-210-5107

How this all started was that Patti (who works at the store) and I came up with a plan that we would work on this together.  We had to complete a building each month and the other person couldn’t go on until both of us were finished.  A customer wanted to join in on the fun so we started planning it out last weekend.  But then I thought . . .why keep this just between the three of us?  Getting through a huge project takes encouragement (and competition for me lol).  Comments, questions and progress (Yes! There will be progress) can be posted on The Enriched Stitch Facebook page.

We have a number of online classes planned that I will be announcing within the next few weeks.  Don’t worry . . .none of them are nearly as large as this piece!

Boobs!

  Tada!

orchid-dress-1
Here’s dress number three from Elizabeth Turner Collection. I just LOVE these dresses. While Meredith Willett was here last week (secretly the owner of that canvas design company) we talked about doing more of them. I’m on my fifth one now so I’m a little late in posting this.

orchide-dress-2

She’s got boobs! I finally made them! Lol! As a woman who is well endowed (don’t hate me) I can say that this is the dress for women who aren’t so lucky.  I learned my lesson when I got married and had to have a strapless dress. Bad idea. And I don’t have very good posture. So, when I went for my dress fitting of course I wasn’t standing up straight. When the day came the photographer wants you to have perfect posture and stand up straight. Well…the dress came out three inches forward showing all my business. We had to pin my dress!

orchide-dress-3

The little leaves on the bottom of the dress were quite a challenge. I tried a bunch of things but the fishbone stitch with flair over the light coverage bargello did the trick!

I’ve got a stitch guide for this one too (of course) and can kit you up one if you’d like.

Huge Canvas Sale!

Blow out sale!!!!!!!

Select canvases are up to 50% off!

You can view all of them in the online store.  Purchases can be made online or in the store or by calling the shop.

It’s time to make some room for all of the great new canvases that will be debuted at the Dallas show in September.

Later this week I’ll be showing the entire Amanda Lawford canvas that I will be teaching at the trade show.
