The last bunny in our club is finished. I’m just waiting for her special jewels to arrive and then we’ll be sending out kits.

This was such a fun series to stitch.  There’s talk that Melissa Shirley might be designing four more bunnies.  If she’ll paint them . . .I’ll stitch them.

I have been so remiss in blogging lately.  It has been so busy.  Between back to school, Julia and Vicky teaching at the shop.  I haven’t gotten my head above water.  And let’s not forget our retreat coming up next weekend.

We had a great time with Vicky DeAngelis teaching at the shop. She did a workshop on Annie Lane canvases.  I worked on “Full Bodied Birdeaux”

She’s gonna get some awesome pearls and crazy hair.  But, I’m being smart and stitching the background first so I’m not all tangled up in everything else.  By the way,  black turkey work is the WORST!  I wouldn’t recommend it.

The second day of class was on the Pepperberry design “Patches the Snowman”

I just love VIcky.  She is a beautiful stitcher.  Every stitch perfection. (Unlike me) And she is the most patient teacher.  If you ever have the opportunity to take a class with Vicky, don’t pass it up.

Two days of embellishment classes with Julia Snyder!  Nothing is more fun!

Julia will be back again next Spring for embellishment classes and maybe a little something else.

Market is starting off with a bang!  No shopping yet. That’s tomorrow.

I flew into Dallas a few days early to attend a strategic planning session about the future of the needlepoint industry.  It was so invigorating to be in a room with the brightest and most passionate minds in the industry.

I can’t reveal too much about what was discussed in the meeting.  But, what I can tell you is that there are new and exciting plans for the future.  Some for members of the trade association.  A few things coming your way.  I’ll keep you informed when everything launches.  I’ll just tell you that Don Lynch, Julie Mast of Three Kittens and I will be getting into some trouble together.

There was plenty of fun to be had later.  I went out to dinner with Melissa Prince and a few other shop owners.  The years of experience in the room was amazing.

I’m  heading out this afternoon for an exciting weekend in Dallas at the Destination Dallas Cash & Carry market.  I’m SO excited!

I was invited to attend a Strategic Planning Meeting about the current state and future of the industry.  This should be interesting.  I have some ideas that might rock the boat.

I’ll be taking an advanced embellishment class on Saturday afternoon.  I plan on working on this new piece that is distributed by Maggie.

I just think it’s really cool and I’m not quite sure what to do with it.  Yes, even I get stumped sometimes.

Sunday is a day of shopping.  God, I love my job!

The most exciting part of the weekend is that I will be teaching a piece for Needle Deeva.  This was quite an honor to be asked.

Needle Deeva has designed a new series, and this piece is kicking it off.

I’m back!  It’s been a little crazy with vacations and getting ready for back to school.  But, I’m back and will be blogging a lot. There will lots of exciting things happening over the next few weeks. The Destination Dallas market. New clubs. Visiting teachers. And our retreat.  Boy!  I planned a busy fall.

I treated myself to stitching something just for myself for once.

Sometimes I just need a quick little project.  I’m always stitching such big pieces. A nice easy piece.  A little basketweave and skip stitch.  Couched threads and a little beading.  Off to the finisher to become a kissing ball.  Can’t wait to get it back!
